Hardik Pandya posts an emotional message
Hardik Pandya expressed his disappointment at not being able to participate in the rest of the World Cup. He pledged to support the team from far away, thanking everyone for their incredible love and support, highlights the team’s special qualities, and expressed confidence in their ability to make their fans proud. He signed off with a message of love and pride for India.
“Tough to digest the fact that I will miss out on the remaining part of the World Cup. I’ll be with the team, in spirit, cheering them on every ball of every game. Thanks for all the wishes, the love, and the support has been incredible. This team is special and I’m sure we’ll make everyone proud. Love, always, HP ❤️🇮🇳.” Hardik posted on Instagram
Pandya sustained injury during his very first over against Bangladesh while trying to stop a shot from Litton Das by stretching his leg, resulting in him slipping and twisting his ankle. Indian team’s physio rushed to the field, and Pandya had to be assisted off the ground. Initially, it was hoped that Pandya would return for India’s match against England, but that didn’t happen.
Pandya, a vital player for India in the World Cup, posed a significant challenge for the team due to his injury. Following his injury, India made two changes to their line-up by including Mohammed Shami and Suryakumar Yadav in the team and benched Shardul Thakur. Despite Pandya’s absence, Indian team have been performing exceptionally well. India have already secured a spot in the semi-finals and are the only undefeated team so far. India have won seven consecutive matches and are set to face South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata next.
