Punjab Kings are looking to add an experienced Indian all-rounder to their squad. Hardik Pandya‘s ability to contribute with both bat and ball could make him a key player for the team.
In exchange, Mumbai Indians are expected to receive Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod. Arshdeep could strengthen MI’s pace attack, while Vinod would provide Indian wicketkeeping option.
Arshdeep has been an important part of Punjab Kings’ bowling attack in recent seasons. The franchise used Right to Match (RTM) card to bring him back for Rs. 18 crore at the 2025 mega-auction. However, he could now be on his way to Mumbai as part of the proposed deal.
Hardik returned to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024. He had earlier led Gujarat to the IPL title in 2022. However, his three seasons as MI captain have not gone as expected, with Mumbai finishing near the bottom of the points table twice.
The proposed trade is yet to be officially confirmed by either franchise. Both teams are expected to make their final decisions before the IPL 2027 retention deadline.
