JUST IN: Hardik Pandya-Yashasvi Jaiswal all set to get traded as MI & RR begin HUGE talks - Reports

Hardik Pandya has led Mumbai Indians for three years in IPL, while Yashasvi Jaiswal has been there with RR since his debut.

Franchises are often interested in acquiring players during the Indian Premier League‘s (IPL) trading window, as a way to build their teams for the upcoming season. While the teams are now expected to start preparing for the upcoming tournament, IPL 2027, the speculation surrounding the player movements is now gaining momentum.

In the years gone by, several big names have influenced the franchisees’ approaches, especially in the presence of established Indian giants. These types of transfers are monitored as they can significantly affect the team balance, leadership development and plans.

According to a recent report, two of India’s biggest cricketing faces have garnered a lot of attention on social media. The development is for the players who have been playing a strong role in Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), and are crucial in India’s plans in multiple formats.

The latest in the IPL transfer saga has captured the spotlight. As per the reports by RevSportz journalist Subhayan Chakraborty, talks are underway between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) regarding a possible swap deal involving India all-rounder Hardik Pandya and opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal.

So far, neither Mumbai Indians nor Rajasthan Royals have made any official comment on the rumoured trade talks, nor has the IPL done so. No deal from either player has been confirmed on a potential move either.

Since returning to the Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans prior to IPL 2024, Pandya has struggled to make a mark in all three departments – batting, bowling and fielding.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal has emerged as one of the most-rated young batsmen in Indian cricket since breaking through for Rajasthan Royals. The left-hander has been a regular in the India Test squad and has also proven to be a dependable cricketer for the franchise.

Several high-profile trades have been made in previous seasons that have been part of this system, and if Pandya-Jaiswal trade happens, it will go as one of the biggest deals in tournament’s history.

If the reported move actually happens, Mumbai Indians would have a long-term dependable top-order batsman around whom they could develop their batting team, and Rajasthan Royals would have one of the best pace-bowling all-rounders in the country.

But until the official announcement from the franchises or the players themselves, the reported Hardik Pandya-Yashasvi Jaiswal swap should be considered speculation.

Can IPL teams trade players before a new season?

Yes. IPL franchises can trade players during the designated trading window, provided both teams agree to the move and the player gives consent.

When will the IPL 2027 season begin?

The 2027 Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to run from March 10 to May 15, 2027, as per the reports

Have Mumbai Indians or Rajasthan Royals responded to the reports of the Pandya-Jaiswal trade?

No. Neither franchise has issued an official statement regarding the reported trade talks.
