"Love you dad.." Harshit Rana shares heartfelt post after receiving maiden India ODI call-up for Sri Lanka tour

Harshit Rana was part of T20I tour of Zimbabwe, but didn’t get a chance to feature in the playing XI.

On July 18, 2024, right-arm pacer Harshit Rana earned his maiden ODI call-up as BCCI announced the Indian cricket team squads for the upcoming away white-ball tour against Sri Lanka, starting on July 27.

Earlier, the BCCI announced the revised schedule for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The three T20Is will now be played from July 27 to July 30, whereas the three-match ODI series is scheduled from August 2 to August 7.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 edition, Rana scalped 19 wickets in 13 matches while representing the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Delhi-born cricketer played a huge role in helping his franchise lift the trophy.

Rana’s impressive performances in the IPL 2024 saw him earn his maiden T20I call-up for India in the recently-concluded five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. However, Rana didn’t get a chance to feature in the playing XI.

Now, following his maiden ODI call-up for the Sri Lanka tour, Rana shared a heartfelt post on his Instagram handle and dedicated his selection to his father.

Rana captioned the post: “This BELONGS to you…❤️🫂. LOVE YOU DAD🧿🫶.”
