KKR speedster Harshit Rana has received his maiden India call-up.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Harshit Rana has got his maiden India call-up as he has been added to India’s squad for the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe. Along with Rana, the BCCI also added left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan and wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma to the squad for the first two T20Is.
These three players replaced Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube for the first couple of T20Is as the trio will have a delayed arrival in India from Barbados, where they have been stranded for a couple of days due to a hurricane, which forced the Barbados airport to shut down.
India will tour Zimbabwe for five T20Is, starting July 6. The board had announced a 15-man squad, to be led by Shubman Gill, last month. That included three players from India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad – Samson, Jaiswal and Dube – while others were rested.
However, this trio won’t be able to participate in the first couple of T20Is because the India contingent had to spend a couple of days extra in Barbados after the final due to the hurricane. The Indian contingent from West Indies is expected to arrive in India on Wednesday evening.
