Smriti was set to tie the knot with the music composer Palash Muchhal on November 23, in her hometown, Sangli. The wedding had created a lot of buzz among the fans, but in a sudden turn of events, it was put on hold.

Reports emerged from Sangli that Smriti’s father was admitted to the hospital on the day of the wedding after he faced some cardiovascular complications. But as the time passed, there were conflicting reports as well, giving birth to rumours.

Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, addressed the media and informed that the cricketer has decided to postpone the marriage as she wants her father to be present on such a special occasion for her. However, soon rumours started doing the rounds on social media, hinting at a different reason behind the postponement of the marriage.

According to rumours, Smriti’s fiancée, Palash, got intimately involved with a choreographer a day before the marriage. The choreographer was a part of the award-winning choreographer Bosco Martis’ team, which was hired to train the family for the musical festivities at the wedding.

The rumours got rife when Smriti deleted all the social media posts related to her wedding. Her teammates Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil followed suit in doing so.
