WPL 2026 will begin on February 9.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026) is set to begin on January 9th, with five teams competing for the title. The fourth edition of the tournament will observe the opening clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians Women and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women at DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

All five franchises are gearing up for WPL 2026, which will conclude on February 5 with the final at BCA Stadium in Vadodara. This year, each team will feature many new faces, which will make this season even more special.

Ahead of the season, all five teams have appointed their head coaches. Moreover, two teams have also appointed new coaches. On that note, below are the coaches of all five teams in WPL 2026.

1. Delhi Capitals Women: Jonathan Batty

Ahead of WPL 2026, Delhi Capitals Women have decided to part ways with their former captain Meg Lanning, but they have retained Jonathan Batty as their head coach.

The former England first-class cricketer has guided the team since the maiden edition in 2023, driving the team to the finals in all three editions, where they ended up as runners-up. Hemlata will be the assistant coach, while Milap Mewada will serve as the fielding coach for Jemimah Rodrigues and Co.

2. Gujarat Giants Women: Michael Klinger

Michael Klinger will continue as the head coach of Gujarat Giants in WPL 2026 and will look to lead the team to their first title. Batting coach Daniel Marsh and bowling coach Pravin Tambe will help him in the upcoming season.

Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner, who propelled the team to the playoffs last season, has been retained as the captain.

3. Mumbai Indians Women: Lisa Keightley

The Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. won the trophy last season by defeating DC Women in the final, winning their second title in the tournament’s history.

Following the team’s success, the Mumbai Indians have retained former Australian cricketer Lisa Keightley as the head coach for WPL 2026.

She will be joined by batting coach Devika Palshikar, fielding coach Nicole Bolton, and spin bowling coach Kristen Beams. Former India Women’s pacer Jhulan Goswami is the mentor of the side.

4. RCB Women: Malolan Rangarajan

RCB Women have appointed Malolan Rangarajan as the head coach. He will succeed Australian Luke Williams for the role, as the latter stepped down from his post ahead of the next season.

Rangarajan, a former first-class player, has been the assistant coach of RCB Women since the maiden edition. Assistant coach Anya Shrubsole and batting coach RX Muralidhar will support him in the upcoming season.

5. UP Warriorz Women: Abhishek Nayar

Abhishek Nayar has been appointed as the head coach of UP Warriorz for WPL 2026. The franchise appointed him as the new head coach after parting ways with Jon Lewis.

As a former assistant coach of the Indian cricket team and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Nair has considerable experience.

Hitshu Bachani is the assistant coach of the side, while Alagh Pratibhan and Saurabh Bandekar are the bowling and fielding coaches, respectively. On the other hand, Lisa Sthalekar is the mentor.
