Virat Kohli has scored most double centuries for India in test cricket.

Virat Kohli is recognized as one of the greatest cricketers ever to play for the Indian cricket team in all three formats of the game. The modern-day chase master has achieved many historic milestones in his great career till now.

Talking about test cricket, Kohli made his debut against the West Indies in 2011. Since then, he has been one of the backbones of the Indian test batting line-up. The former Indian captain has piled over 9000 runs in over 115 tests.

5. 211 vs New Zealand, Indore, 2016

Virat Kohli slammed a terrific double century during the Indore test against New Zealand in 2016. Kohli’s knock included 20 boundaries.

Talking about the match, India declared at 557/5 after Kohli’s brilliant knock of 211 off 366 balls. In reply, New Zealand made 299 runs.

India posted a target of 475 runs after they made 216/3d in the second innings. While chasing, the visitors were bowled out for 153 runs and lost the match by 321 runs

4. 213 vs Sri Lanka, Nagpur, 2017

Indian stalwart Virat Kohli played a match-winning knock of 213 runs against Sri Lanka in the Nagpur test in 2017.

Batting first, India made 610/6d after Kohli played a sublime knock of 213 runs off 267 balls, including 19 boundaries. In reply, Sri Lanka were bundled out for just 205 and 166 runs in their both innings respectively.

The Indian cricket team won the one-sided test by an innings and 239 runs. Kohli was named Player of the Match for his impressive double century.

3. 235 vs England, Wankhede, 2016

During England’s tour of India in 2016, Virat Kohli delivered a masterclass during the Wankhede test.

Batting first, England scored 400 runs after Keaton Jennings played a classy knock of 112 runs.

In reply, Virat Kohli displayed his class by scoring 235 runs off 340 balls, which guided India to 631 runs. England were then bowled out for 195 in their second innings.

Kohli’s mammoth innings helped the Indian side to win the Wankhede test by an innings and 36 runs. King Kohli was named Player of the Match.

2. 243 vs Sri Lanka, Delhi, 2017

Virat Kohli’s second highest score in test cricket came at his home ground in Delhi against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Indian opener Murali Vijay (155) and Kohli’s magnificent knock of 243 runs off 287 balls guided their side to 536/7 in the first innings. In reply, Sri Lanka managed only 373 runs.

However, the match was drawn after India and Sri Lanka made 246/5d and 299/5 in their second innings respectively. Modern-day chase master Kohli was adjudged Player of the Match for his impressive outing with the bat (243 & 50).

1. 254* vs South Africa, Pune, 2019

Virat Kohli hammered his highest score in test cricket during Pune test against South Africa in 2019. Kohli’s unbeaten 254* was his first-ever 250+ score in the longest format.

India notched up 601/5d on the back of Kohli’s stunning knock of 254 off 336 deliveries, which included 35 boundaries.

South Africa were bundled out for 275 and 189 in their both innings. India won the one-sided affair by an innings and 137 runs. Kohli was named Player of the Match.
