Virat Kohli was dismissed for a nine-ball duck in the first test against New Zealand in Bengaluru.

Indian stalwart Virat Kohli’s underwhelming form continues in test cricket as he was dismissed for a nine-ball duck in the ongoing first test of the three-match series against New Zealand at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on October 17.

After Day 1 was called off due to persistent rain in Bengaluru, the test match finally kicked off on Day 2 on Thursday. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat first in bowling-friendly conditions.

However, Rohit’s decision backfired as Indian batters struggled against the New Zealand pace attack during the morning session on Day 2. Speedster Tim Southee removed Rohit Sharma for two runs. Kohli, who came at No. 3, was dismissed for a nine-ball duck by pacer William ORourke.

To make things worse, right-arm speedster Matt Henry removed Sarfaraz Khan for a three-ball duck. The Indian side slipped to 13-3 in 12.4 overs before rain halted the morning session.

The Bengaluru crowd went dead silent when Virat Kohli was dismissed for a nine-ball duck in the ongoing first test match against New Zealand. After almost three years, Kohli has been dismissed for a duck in test cricket.
