Mumbai Indians drop HUGE hint on Rohit Sharma's availability for MI vs PBKS clash of IPL 2026

Rohit Sharma sustained a hamstring injury in MI’s previous game against RCB.
Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to clash with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their next match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The encounter will take place on April 16 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Ahead of the match, MI have suffered a big blow as Rohit Sharma is doubtful to feature in the match. The MI opener suffered a hamstring injury in the previous clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Rohit sustained the injury while batting in the second innings. He left the field midway and was retired hurt. He did not came on the field to resume his batting later as MI lost the encounter by 18 runs.

Notably, Rohit had missed the team’s training session on Tuesday. However, he participated in the practice session on Wednesday. He did some light jogging after missing the early sessions. He also spent about 20 minutes in the nets and batted against net bowlers and throwdowns, which in itself was a hint that he might play MI vs PBKS clash of IPL 2026.
Meanwhile, a report by Cricbuzz revealed that Rohit is likely to miss the upcoming game against Punjab.
Rohit has featured in all four games of MI so far. He scored a half-century in the opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders, which is MI’s only victory so far. In the other three matches, he scored 35, 5, and 19*.
If Rohit is unable to play in the next game, it will be a big blow for MI as they will need to adjust their top order. They have Quinton de Kock in the squad; however, inducting him will force them to shuffle their overseas members.
The Hardik Pandya & Co. have witnessed a horrible start in the tournament. They won their opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), but later lost three games in a row.
In their previous game against RCB, they struggled in both the batting and bowling departments despite having the home advantage.
