ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final, IND vs AUS: Who said what ?

Australia defeated India by 6 wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final.
Australia thrashed India at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Final. Travis Head’s heroics were enough to power Australia to their sixth World Cup title. Australia chased down India’s 241-run target with ease. Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne added a match-winning 192-run partnership for the 4th wicket to end India’s 10-match winning streak in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. It wasn’t India’s day in the field as they struggled to put up a brave fight against the mighty Australians. Indian batting failed miserably against Australian bowlers, and they could put on 240 runs on the board.
Rohit Sharma felt India were 20-30 runs short
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was disappointed after India’s yet another final loss, and Rohit accepted that it was not a good day in the field for India. Rohit said, “I mean, the result hasn’t gone our way, and we know that we were not good enough on the day. But proud of the team. It wasn’t supposed to be. Honestly, 20–30 runs would’ve been good.” Indian skipper also acknowledged that losing wickets at regular intervals costed India the World Cup trophy. He added, “Honestly, 20–30 runs would’ve been good. I thought when KL and Virat were batting, we were looking at 270–280 at that point, and we kept losing wickets.” Rohit also said that India didn’t bat well in the game.
Pat Cummins elated after the World Cup win
Australian skipper Pat Cummins was happy after Australia’s sixth World Cup win. Cummins believed that Australia had saved the best for last, and it came out nicely in the final game against India. Cummins said, “I think we saved our best for last. We have been batting first pretty much for the whole tournament, and we thought it was a good night to chase down the target.” Australian skipper Pat Cummins also credited Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne’s partnership. Cummins added, “Marnus has a cool head, and Travis does what he does on the biggest stage, showing a lot of character. The selectors have backed him in, and it was a big risk that we took, and it paid off.”
Australia had a magnificent year in 2023 and ended up winning the World Test Championship final against India at the Oval, retained Ashes in England, and also ended up winning the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Pat Cummins said that Australian camp and fans will remember this year for a long time, as it has been a glorious year for Australian cricket. Pat Cummins added, “You look around, and it is a special moment no matter what happened tonight. You gotta go and win the World Cup; you can’t wait for it to happen. This year will be remembered for a long, long time, and we had a lot of success over the winter, and this one peaks it all. At the top of the mountain.”
