ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Most Runs, Most Wickets after semi-final 1, IND vs NZ

India beat New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-final 1 of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 to become first finalists.
Team India have thrashed New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium to qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup final. India became the first team to qualify for the final of World Cup 2023 after decimating the Kiwis by 70 runs. New Zealand took the game closer with a magnificent knock from all-rounder Daryl Mitchell (134) who scored his second World Cup hundred.
Daryl Mitchell and skipper Kane Williamson (69) scripted one of the finest comebacks in ICC knockouts after losing two early wickets in the semi-final. Mohammed Shami was at his brilliance once again and took a 5-wicket haul. This was Shami’s 3rd 5-wicket haul in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Shami was the hero for India and took his team to 4th World Cup final.
Team India posted 397 runs after winning the toss. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (47) provided a blistering start to team India. Shubman Gill (80*) also played a magnificent knock but he had to walk back to the dressing room and take a long break when he was on 79 due to cramps. Virat Kohli scored his 50th ODI ton and broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
Virat Kohli breached Sachin’s 673 run record and became the batter with the most runs scored in a World Cup edition, also became the first player to score 700 runs in one edition of the World Cup. He also became the batter with the most number of centuries in the ODI format, overtaking Sachin Tendulkar’s 49. Shreyas Iyer also smashed his century and scored 105 runs.
ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Most Runs
Virat Kohli has created a history with his knock of 117 runs against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Virat broke multiple batting records of Sachin Tendulkar with his just one century. He has now become the first player to score more than 700 runs in one World Cup edition.
Virat is currently the leading run-scorer of the World Cup 2023 with 711 runs in 10 innings. South African wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock is second on the list with 591 runs in 9 innings. New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra ended up at 3rd place with 578 runs in 10 innings. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is 4th with 550 runs in 10 innings. Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer is 5th with 526 runs.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami bowled brilliantly against the Kiwis and provided India with much-needed breakthroughs whenever needed. Shami was the star performer for India and kept dominating the Kiwi batters. Mohammed Shami with his 7 wickets spell jumped to pole position with 23 wickets in just 6 games.
Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa is the second leading wicket-taker in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with 22 wickets in 9 games. Sri Lankan pace bowler Dilshan Madushanka is third in the tally with 21 wickets in 9 games. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is third in the table with 18 wickets in 10 games. Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi is 5th in the tally with 18 wickets in 9 games.
