ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Oman squad, schedule, timings, venues and all you need to know

Oman are making their comeback to the T20 World Cup after missing out on the 2022 edition in Australia.

Oman will feature in Group B of the ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held across the Caribbean islands and the United States of America between June 1 and 29.

There are 20 teams in the main tournament this time. Each of the 20 teams will play four group matches. The top two from each of the four groups will advance to the Super 8 round.

In the Super 8 round, the eight teams will be grouped into two groups of four each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. The semi-finals will take place on June 26 and 27, with the summit clash to be hosted in Barbados on June 29.

Till now Oman have played in two T20 World Cups, in 2016 and 2021. They failed to cross the group stages both times. They qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024 by winning the Asia Qualifiers last year.

Oman’s full schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2024:

Oman have been placed in Group B of the T20 World Cup 2024. They are accompanied by defending champions England, Australia, Namibia, and Scotland. The teams will meet each other once before the top two sides of the group proceed to the Super 8 stage.

The Asian team will begin their tournament on June 2 against Namibia and will next face the 2021 T20 champions Australia on June 5, with both matches to be played in Barbados. The contingent will then move to Antigua where they will clash with Scotland on June 9. They will play their final league stage game on June 13 against England.

Oman Group stage venues for their matches in T20 World Cup 2024:

Oman’s Group B matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, and the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

Oman will play their first two Group B matches at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, and then play their next two group stage matches at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua.

June 2: vs Namibia, Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados

June 5: vs Australia, Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados

June 9: vs Scotland, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua

Timings for Oman matches in T20 World Cup 2024:

The first two group stage matches of Oman, against Namibia and Australia, will begin at 6 AM IST/12:30 AM GMT (Jun 03)/08:30 PM Local time.

Their third group game against Scotland will be played on June 9 at 10.30 PM IST/05:00 PM GMT/01:00 PM Local Time. Their last group fixture against England is scheduled to start at 12:30 AM IST (Jun 14)/07:00 PM GMT/03:00 PM LOCAL.
