ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Uganda squad, schedule, timings, venues and all you need to know

Uganda will play their first ever ICC T20 World Cup in 2024.
Uganda named their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on May 6. The African nation will play their first-ever men’s T20 World Cup tournament.
Brian Masaba has been appointed as their skipper for the upcoming global tournament. Uganda crushed Rwanda in the final round of matches in the Africa qualification phase in 2023.
Riazat Ali Shah will serve as the deputy of Masaba in the prestigious tournament. Interestingly, the selection committee has included 43-year-old Frank Nsubuga, who will be one of the oldest players in the T20 World Cup 2024.
All eyes will be on Uganda’s spin bowling all-rounder Alpesh Ramjani who was nominated for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year Award in 2023. The star spinner scalped 55 wickets last year in T20Is.
Uganda’s full schedule for T20 World Cup 2024:
Uganda are placed in Group C along with Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, co-hosts West Indies and New Zealand.
The Brian Masaba-led side will play their first match on June 3 against Afghanistan. Their second and third matches will be on June 5 and June 8 against Papua New Guinea and West Indies respectively. Uganda’s last group fixture against New Zealand will be played on June 14.

- June 9: vs West Indies
- June 15: vs New Zealand
The Super Eight matches will be played from June 19 to 25.
At which venues will Uganda play their group stage matches in the T20 World Cup 2024?
Masaba’s unit will play their first three league matches at the Providence Stadium, Guyana. Their final group-game against New Zealand will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad.

- June 5: vs Papua New Guinea, Providence Stadium, Guyana
- June 9: vs West Indies, Providence Stadium, Guyana
- June 15: vs New Zealand, Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad
What are the timings of Uganda’s matches in the T20 World Cup 2024?
The first group match against Afghanistan will be played at 6:00 AM IST / 12:30 AM GMT (June 4) / 8:30 PM local time (June 3). Uganda’s next fixture against Papua New Guinea is scheduled at 5:00 AM IST / 11:30 AM GMT (June 6) / 7:30 PM local time (June 5).
Their next game against co-hosts West Indies will start at 6:00 AM IST / 12:30 AM GMT (June 9) / 8:30 PM local time (June 8). Their final league match against the Black Caps will be telecast at 6:00 AM IST / 12:30 AM GMT (June 15) / 8:30 PM local time (June 14).
