ICC World Test Championship 2021-23: Team-wise prize money revealed
The ICC has announced a prize pool of 3.8 Million USD, which translates to 31.32 crores INR for all the participants in the WTC 2021-23 cycle.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has organized the World Test Championship (WTC), a prestigious tournament that aims to elevate the status of Test cricket.
The team that emerges victorious in the ICC WTC final will be rewarded with a generous sum of $1.6 million, in recognition of their exceptional performance and triumphant success in the championship. The runners-up will be bestowed with a commendable prize of $800,000 for their impressive journey and notable achievements.
Furthermore, the teams securing the third and fourth positions will receive respective awards of $450,000 and $350,000, acknowledging their significant contributions to the tournament. The team in the fourth position will be granted $200,000. As a gesture of appreciation for their participation, the remaining four teams will each receive $100,000.
This generous distribution of monetary rewards serves as an incentive for teams to actively participate in the WTC. By providing substantial financial motivation, the ICC aims to foster team enthusiasm and engagement in Test cricket, ultimately enhancing the prominence of this traditional format of the game.
The WTC 2021-23, a two-year tournament that commenced on 4 August 2021 and concluded with the Final on 7–11 June 2023, witnessed a thrilling showdown. The final match witnessed Australia emerging victorious by 209 runs against India, securing the title and cementing their status as the only team to win all ICC titles. This historic victory adds to the allure and prestige of the World Test Championship.

9th Place – Bangladesh:
Bangladesh secured the 9th place in the World Test Championship (WTC) with a PCT of 11.11 in 12 matches. They received a prize of 100K USD, equivalent to 82 Lakhs INR.
8th Place – West Indies
West Indies finished in the 8th place in the World Test Championship (WTC) with a PCT of 34.62 in 13 matches. They were awarded a prize of 100K USD, equivalent to 82 Lakhs INR.
7th Place – Pakistan
Pakistan claimed the 7th place in the World Test Championship (WTC) with a PCT of 38.10 in 14 matches. They received a prize of 100K USD, equivalent to 82 Lakhs INR.
6th Place – New Zealand
New Zealand secured the 6th place in the World Test Championship (WTC) with a PCT of 38.46 in 13 matches. They were granted a prize of 100K USD, equivalent to 82 Lakhs INR.
5th Place – Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka finished in the 5th place in the World Test Championship (WTC) with a PCT of 44.44 in 12 matches. They received a prize of 200K USD, equivalent to 1.64 Crores INR.
4th Place – England
England claimed the 4th place in the World Test Championship (WTC) with a PCT of 46.97 in 22 matches. They were awarded a prize of 350K USD, equivalent to 2.8 Crores INR.
3rd Place – South Africa
South Africa secured the 3rd place in the World Test Championship (WTC) with a PCT of 55.56 in 15 matches. They received a prize of 450K USD, equivalent to 3.7 Crores INR.
2nd Place – India:
India finished the standings at second place with a PCT of 58.80 in 18 matches. In the finals, India lost to Australia by 209 runs and finished as the runners-up in the World Test Championship (WTC). They were awarded a prize of 800K USD, equivalent to 6.59 Crores INR.
1st Place – Australia:
Australia finished the standings at 1st place with a PCT of 66.67 in 19 matches. In the finals, Australia defeated India by 209 runs and emerged as the winners of the World Test Championship (WTC). They received a prize of 1.6 Million USD, equivalent to 13.2 Crores INR.
