ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table after 3rd test, England vs West Indies 2024
England registered their sixth win in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
The Ben Stokes-led England cricket team crushed visitors the West Indies by 10 wickets in the third test match at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 28.
In the West Indies’ first innings, skipper Kraigg Brathwaite scored 86-ball 61, whereas veteran all-rounder Jason Holder played a gritty knock of 59 runs in 112 deliveries, which powered the visitors to 282 runs.
For England, Speedsters Gus Atkinson bagged a four wicket haul, whereas Chris Woakes took three wickets. In the hosts’ first innings, young wicket-keeper batter Jamie Smith hammered 95 runs, whereas veteran batter Joe Root smashed 87 runs, which helped England post 376 runs.
During the first innings, Root became the second English batter after legendary Alastair Cook to reach 12,000-run landmark in test cricket, Overall, he became the seventh batter to achieve the historic feat.
After conceding a 94-run lead, the West Indies couldn’t fight back with the bat in the second innings as they just made 175 runs and set a target of just 82 runs for England.
West Indies Opener Mikyle Louis and middle-order batter Kavem Hodge scored half-centuries, but none of the other batters managed to cross the 20-run mark. For England, speedster Mark Wood bagged a five-wicket haul.
While chasing just 82 runs, England skipper Ben Stokes notched up a stunning half-century, whereas Ben Duckett remained not out on 25 runs as the hosts won the match by 10 wickets and whitewashed the West Indies 3-0 in the three-match test series.

With the win in the third test, England registered their sixth match in 13 outings they have had in the ongoing ICC WTC 2023-25 cycle. The Ben Stokes-led side are positioned sixth with PCT of 36.54.
Meanwhile, the West Indies are at the bottom of the points table with just one victory in the seven test matches they have played till now. West Indies have PCT of 19.04.
Meanwhile, India lead the chart with PCT of 68.51 with six wins in nine games.
Australia are placed second with eight wins and PCT of 62.50. The Aussies have played 12 tests and lost three of them till now. New Zealand and Sri Lanka are placed fourth and fifth with PCT of 50.00 respectively.
Pakistan are at fifth position with three wins in five test matches they have played till now. South Africa and Bangladesh are positioned at the seventh and eighth spots respectively.
