South Africa kicked-off their ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 campaign with a win over India.

South Africa got off to a winning start in their ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 campaign as they crushed India by an innings and 32 runs at Supersport Park in Centurion. South African pacers were hunting wickets in pairs and rattled the star-studded Indian batting lineup. Team India could only manage to score 131 runs in the second innings.

After a winning start in Centurion, South Africa have taken a lead of 1-0 in the two-match test series against India. Kagiso Rabada and Nandre Burger exposed Indian batters in both innings as they picked up 14 wickets together in the game. Rabada picked up a five-wicket haul in the first innings while Nandre Burger picked up 4 wickets in the second innings. Dean Elgar smashed 14th test ton of his career.

After earning full 12 points from the game, South Africa went top of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table with 100 PCT points. They have played only one game so far in this WTC cycle and started winning note. India, who were at the top spot prior to the match, have slipped down to fifth position. Pakistan are at second position with 61.11 PCT points in 3 test matches they have played in the WTC 2023-25 cycle so far. New Zealand remain third with 50 PCT points in 2 test matches.

Bangladesh are placed fourth with 50 PCT points and 12 overall points in 2 test matches. Australia stand at sixth position with 41.67 PCT points and 30 overall points in 6 test matches.

West Indies have slipped one place down to seventh place with 16.67 PCT points. England are currently placed at eighth place with 15 PCT points. Sri Lanka are languishing at the bottom of the table without a point under their name.
