ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table after 3rd Test, England vs Sri Lanka 2024

Sri Lanka are ranked fifth in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 standings.
Sri Lanka’s star opener Pathum Nissanka played a match-winning knock of 127* runs in the third of the three-match series against England to help his side win by eight wickets at the Oval on Monday, September 9. This also ended England’s five-match unbeaten streak of the summer.
Earlier in the match, England made 325 runs in the first innings. Stand-in captain Ollie Pope played a terrific knock of 154 runs off 156 deliveries, including 19 boundaries and two maximums.
Opener Ben Duckett also contributed with 86 runs. Sri Lanka’s Milan Rathnayake scalped three wickets, while Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, and skipper Dhananjaya de Silva took two wickets apiece.
In the visitors’ first innings, Nissanka played a good knock of 64 runs. Skipper de Silva (69) and Kamindu Mendis (64) also chipped in with the bat as Sri Lanka reached 263. England speedsters Olly Stone and Josh Hull took three wickets each.
In England’s second innings, Sri Lankan pacer Lahiru Kumara dismantled the hosts’ batting line-up with a four-wicket haul. England were bundled out for just 156 runs, setting a target of 219 runs for Sri Lanka.
While chasing, Nissanka slammed a breezy century and went on to make 127* runs off 124 deliveries, with 13 boundaries and two maximums. The visitors won the match by eight wickets and avoided a whitewash.
Although England lost the third test, they claimed the series 2-1. Joe Root and Kamindu Mendis were awarded the Player of the Series awards.

After winning the third test against England, the Sri Lankan cricket team jumped to fifth place in the WTC standings with three victories in seven matches. Their PCT currently is 42.86.
After suffering a crushing defeat at the Oval, England slipped down to sixth spot with seven losses in 16 matches. Their PCT currently is 42.19.
Meanwhile, India and Australia are at the top two positions in the ICC WTC 2023-25 standings. New Zealand are third with three wins in six games. Their PCT is 50.00.
Bangladesh are placed fourth with three wins in six outings. Their PCT is 45.83. South Africa, Pakistan, and West Indies are the bottom three teams in the latest ICC WTC 2023-25 points table.
