IND vs AUS: India playing XI vs Australia, 1st T20I, 2023 - Predicted
India will take on Australia in the first match of the five-match IND vs AUS T20I series on Thursday in Visakhapatnam.
After a three-day break, the two finalists of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will face each other in another series. After the conclusion of the 50-over tournament, the next big assignment is the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. In line to prepare for it, India will take on Australia in the first game of the five-match T20I series on Thursday.
This game will be played at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. India have given rest to all of their senior players that played in the World Cup apart from Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Prasidh Krishna, and Shreyas Iyer (for the last two games). SKY will be leading the team, with Ruturaj Gaikwad as his deputy. Australia have also given chances to the youngsters. In this article, we will talk about India’s predicted playing XI for the first T20I.
IND vs AUS: India’s Predicted playing XI vs Australia, 1st T20I
1. Yashasvi Jaiswal:
Yashasvi Jaiswal made a spectacular debut in 2023 in tests and T20Is. He has carried his IPL form into international cricket. The left-hander has already struck a T20I hundred, but his biggest test will be against Australia, and he will look to do well against the best. Jaiswal’s performance will be a big factor in the coming series for India.
2. Ruturaj Gaikwad:
Ruturaj Gaikwad is the vice-captain of the team and a key player at the top. He led India to glory in the Asian Games 2023 and did well with the bat. Ahead of the World Cup 2023, he played ODIs against Australia and looked good, so he will be confident enough to deliver again against the Men in Yellow in a shorter format.
3. Tilak Varma:
Tilak Varma had a remarkable debut series against West Indies and was India’s top scorer in the series. The left-hander also performed well in the Asian Games 2023, and this will be a big series for him to stay in contention for the future in the coming T20I series. Tilak can also bowl some useful overs, which will be another area that he can contribute to.
4. Suryakumar Yadav (c):
Suryakumar Yadav didn’t have a great ODI stint in the World Cup 2023, but now it is time to head to the format where he is the best at the moment. The No. 1 ranked T20I batter will be leading India and will look to deliver a match-winning performance. His performance will decide which way the game will go.
5. Ishan Kishan (wk):
Ishan Kishan will be the first-choice keeper and an important batter in the middle order for India. The left-hander is a pocket-dynamo in this format and can play big shots when required. Being an experienced pro on the team, he will be playing a crucial role in this series to take the game along.
6. Rinku Singh:
This series will be a make-or-break for Rinku Singh. He is the kind of finisher that India is looking for in the T20Is. If he can perform well in the coming five games, then India can think of him in the coming plans for the T20 World Cup. And the way Rinku is going, fans are pretty excited to see him perform against the Australians.
7. Shivam Dube:
Shivam Dube will be the all-rounder in the team and the man who can hit big sixes in the final overs. The big left-hander is a floater who can bat anywhere and can change the game in a span of a few overs. Dube will also be a handy seamer, and he will be looking to make a mark in this series to give India a seam-bowling all-round option for the future.
8. Axar Patel:
Axar Patel is back after recovering from the injury and will be looking to get back to his normal best and take India to a good position in this series. He will be looking to contribute in both departments, and being an experienced pro, he will be looking to make a difference with his performance for sure.
9. Arshdeep Singh:
Arshdeep Singh is one of the main pacers for India in the shorter format, and the management will note his performances in this series. He is a wicket-taker and a good bowler in death overs. But he needs to work on his line and no-balls, which sometimes become a headache for the captain. Arshdeep will be the threat with the new ball because he can swing the ball big.
10. Ravi Bishnoi:
Ravi Bishnoi is another talented leg-spinner whom India have in their plans. He is a pretty smart character who likes to take things one step better than the batsman. Ravi has some good varieties, and he bowls quick and doesn’t give a chance to use his feet, which makes him a difficult prospect to handle for the batsmen. He will get some turn at VDCA Stadium and will be a wicket-taker.
11. Prasidh Krishna:
Prasidh Krishna made his T20I debut in the Ireland series and took four wickets in two games. His pace and bounce become hard to handle for the batters. He will be the bowler to watch out for. With India set to play a lot of T20Is, he will be the pacer that will be used to manage the workloads of the seniors.
