The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian cricket team sealed the three-match IND vs BAN T20I series with wins in the first two games in Gwalior and Delhi.
In Delhi, India registered a massive win by 86 runs with Nitish Reddy starring as an all-rounder. Rinku Singh and Varun Chakravarthy played their roles to superb execution as well.
In this article, we will discuss how the Indian players performed in the second T20I and rate them.
IND vs BAN: Indian Cricket Team player performance rating in 2nd T20I
Sanju Samson (wk) – 3
Samson, who had scored 29 in the previous game, started off well with a couple of boundaries today, but was dismissed for 10 runs in seven balls by Taskin Ahmed, chipping to mid-off.
Abhishek Sharma – 6
Abhishek once again tried to assert himself with aggression and scored 15 runs in his first 10 balls with three fours, but was castled by a beauty from Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
He got the chance to bowl in this game and picked Towhid Hridoy’s wicket, conceding only 10 runs in two overs.
Suryakumar Yadav (c) – 2
Captain Suryakumar Yadav failed to get going today. After thumping 29 (14) in Gwalior, Yadav managed only eight runs today off 10 balls and fell to a cutter from Mustafizur Rahman.
Nitish Reddy – 10
Few all-round performances for India in T20Is could match this. Nitish Reddy showed why he is rated so highly with a blistering knock of 74 runs off 34 balls. Despite the ball gripping a bit on the pitch, which also had some low bounce, Reddy smoked four fours and seven jaw-dropping sixes.
He forged a sensational partnership of 108 (49) with Rinku Singh that was crucial in taking India to over 200. With the ball then, he snared two wickets, including that of Mahmudullah, Bangladesh’s top-scorer.
Nitish became first ever Indian player to score 70+ runs and pick two or more wickets in a T20I.
Rinku Singh – 8.5
Rinku Singh wasn’t having a great time in T20s since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 because of a lack of opportunities as he bats generally lower down the order. So today’s innings came as a reminder of his prowess as a batsman.
The left-hander clattered five fours and three sixes in his knock of 53 runs off 29 balls, reasserting himself as one of India’s best hitters in this format currently.
Hardik Pandya – 8.5
Hardik Pandya continued on his touch from the previous game and thwacked 32 runs off 19 balls today, walloping a couple of fours and as many sixes. He didn’t bowl in the game.
Riyan Parag – 6.5
Parag hit two sixes in his brief six-ball stay that yielded him and India 15 runs. With the ball, he bowled two overs, conceded 16 runs and dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Washington Sundar – 7
Sundar surprisingly got to bowl only one over in the 2nd IND vs BAN T20I. He conceded only four runs and dismissed Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Sundar would hope to get more overs under his belt in the third T20I.
Varun Chakaravarthy – 8.5
After picking three wickets in the previous game, Chakaravarthy had another impressive outing as he returned with figures of 2/19 in four overs, which included knocking over Liton Das’ stumps.
Chakaravarthy has made a strong comeback to the T20I side.
Arshdeep Singh – 5
Man of the Match of the previous game, Arshdeep Singh had a decent outing tonight, as he finished with 1/26. After being hit for three fours in the first over, he bounced back by dismissing opener Parvez Hossain Emon.
Mayank Yadav – 4
Playing his second T20I, Mayank Yadav registered figures of 1/30 in four overs, which were good considering it was a good batting surface. He dismissed middle-order batsman Jaker Ali.
