IND vs BAN: Head-to-Head in T20Is

India and Bangladesh have met each other 15 times in T20Is till now. Out of these, Bangladesh claimed only one victory, while the Men In Blue won the rest 14 encounters.

When did Bangladesh defeat India in T20I?

Bangladesh’s only victory against India in T20Is came on 3rd November 2019 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

It marked a memorable moment in the history of Bangladesh cricket as it was their first-ever win over India in the shortest format. However, they have failed to capitalise on it and are yet to taste victory again.

The Bangla Tigers defeated India in the first of the three-matchIND vs BAN T20I series in 2019. They chased down the target of 149 with seven wickets in hands and three balls to spare.

Batting first, India struggled to gain momentum and finished with a below-par total of 148/6 in their 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was the top scorer for India with 41 runs off 42 balls, with no other batsmen crossing the 30-run mark.

Bangladesh’s spinners, Aminul Islam and Afif Hossain, applied breaks to Indian innings, giving away just 33 runs and picking three wickets in their eight overs.

In response, Bangladesh maintained their composure to complete the chase. Mohammad Naim (26 off 28) and Soumya Sarkar (39 off 35) laid the foundation for the chase, while Mushfiqur Rahim played a match-winning knock, scoring an unbeaten 60 off 43 balls. Rahim was named the Man of the Match for steering Bangladesh towards the win.

Although India bounced back in the next two matches to win the series 2-1, Bangladesh’s victory in Delhi remains a significant achievement in their cricketing history.
