‘Bazball’ was forgotten when India gave England a huge target of 557 runs. In Ranchi, Indian team management is likely to make a few changes in their playing XI. India have given Jasprit Bumrah rest for the fourth test in Ranchi and KL Rahul has been ruled out. Let’s have a look at the Indian Cricket Team predicted playing XI for fourth test vs England in Ranchi.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has so far smashed two double centuries in the ongoing five-match series. Jaiswal became only the third Indian batter to score double centuries in consecutive test matches after Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli. 3. Shubman Gill:

India’s new number 3 Shubman Gill is slowly getting into the groove. Gill fell short of his fourth test ton by just nine runs in the second innings of the Rajkot test. Shubman Gill played his first big knock at his new batting position in Visakhapatnam test and hit a ton. In the Rajkot he gave glimpses of getting back to form. Gill will look to carry on with momentum in the Ranchi test as well.

4. Rajat Patidar:

KL Rahul missed the last two test matches in Vishakapatnam and Rajkot due to injury and he was set to be back for the fourth test in Ranchi, but on Tuesday, February 20, the BCCI confirmed that KL Rahul has been ruled out of the fourth test as well, which might give Rajat Patidar another go in the playing 11. Rajat Patidar managed scores of 32, 9, 5 and 0 in four innings so far.

5. Sarfaraz Khan:

Sarfaraz Khan is one of the most inspiring stories in Indian cricket. Sarfaraz Khan had a fabulous debut at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot and scored two fifty plus knocks in both innings of the match. Sarfaraz Khan will retain his place for the fourth test match in Ranchi. Sarfaraz scored 62 runs in his debut innings and then went on to score 68* runs in the second innings of the Rajkot Test against England. Sarfaraz became fourth Indian to hit two fifties on debut in test cricket.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja completed 3000 test runs after scoring a magnificent century against England in the Rajkot test. Jadeja scored 112 runs in the first innings of Rajkot test and went on to pick up a five-wicket haul in the second innings.

8. Ravi Ashwin:

Ashwin had to skip the third day action due to personal reasons, but he rushed from Chennai through a chartered flight and returned to bowl on day 4 of the Rajkot test.

9. Kuldeep Yadav:

Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets in the recently concluded Rajkot test. Kuldeep is likely to be retained in the Indian playing XI as Ranchi wicket will most probably be a rank-turner. Kuldeep also impressed everyone with his batting ability when he came as a night-watchman in the second innings. Kuldeep scored 27 runs in 91 balls and laid a platform for India to look for mammoth second innings lead against England.

10. Mohammed Siraj:

Right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj had a quiet series so far. Apart from his 4/86 in the first innings of the Rajkot test, Mohammed Siraj went wicketless in the three of the four innings he bowled against England in the ongoing series. Ranchi is likely to be a helpful venue for Siraj as weather in north and east Indian regions will still remain a little moist. Siraj will lead the bowling attack in Bumrah’s absence.

11. Akash Deep:

Having already bowled around 80 overs in first three tests, Jasprit Bumrah is most likely to be rested by the team management for the fourth test in Ranchi. Bengal pacer Akash Deep might make his debut and replace Jasprit Bumrah in the playing 11 if India decide to go with three spinners and two fast bowlers. Akash Deep recently played for India A against England Lions in the unofficial test series and picked 13 wickets in three games.
