Sanju Samson was once again bowled by Marco Jansen in the first over of the match.

It’s been quite a bizarre and even unbelievable streak of four matches for Sanju Samson as he’s bagged two consecutive ducks right after becoming the first Indian to hit two consecutive T20I centuries.

With centuries in Hyderabad against Bangladesh and in Durban against South Africa, Samson proved that he had the mettle to not just succeed in T20Is but also be consistent at it. However, his back-to-back ducks are further proof of how mercurial T20 cricket is and how cruel this sport can be.

In the second T20I in Gqeberha, Marco Jansen had ripped up Samson’s leg stump when he made room for himself by shifting outside the leg stump but missed his shot.

In the 3rd IND vs SA T20I, Jansen castled Samson again in the first over of India’s innings, this time smashing his off-stump as the batsman was late in bringing his bat down. Samson looked at the pitch, perhaps suggesting that the ball stayed lower than he anticipated.

Nonetheless, South Africa were cock-a-hoop as they had once again got rid of an in-form batsman very early in the innings.

These two consecutive ducks for Samson that followed consecutive centuries led to interesting reactions from fans on Twitter, with the majority of them showing their surprise at this sequence of scores of the Kerala cricketer.

Fans’ reactions to Sanju Samson’s duck in 3rd IND vs SA T20I:

South Africa captain Aidem Markram won the toss and elected to field first.
