India beat South Africa by 17 runs in the first IND vs SA ODI in Ranchi.

The Indian Cricket Team and the South African Cricket Team were up against each other in the first match of the three-match ODI series. The opening game between the two teams took place at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. 

India, who were asked to bat, had a great outing with the bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal (18) lost his wicket early but it was Virat Kohli (135) and Rohit Sharma who took over the centre stage, adding 136 runs for the second wicket. They batted brilliantly, putting the opposition under massive pressure. 

In the end, KL Rahul (60) and Ravindra Jadeja (32) batted well and took India to the total of a total of 349. With the ball then, India then had a sensational start with Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh picking three wickets to leave South Africa at 11/3.

Matthew Breetzke (78) held the one end, while Tony Se Zorzi (39) and Dewald Brevis (37) supported him brilliantly. Marco Jansen (70) then put India under pressure along with Breetzke as they added 97 runs but Kuldeep Yadav removed both to bring India back in the game. 

Corbin Bosch (67) fought hard with his fifty but Kuldeep picked a four-fer, while Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh bagged three wickets each as India beat South Africa by 17 runs in the first ODI to take a lead of 1-0 in the series.

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav is at the top of the list with four wickets followed by Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh at second and third spots with three wickets. The South African duo of Ottneil Baartman, Nandre Burger are next with two scalps each.
