The Indian women’s team is all set to host the South African women’s team for a multi-format series later this year, in the months of June and July, according to a report. The South African team last played a test in India back in November 2014.

It is to be noted that the Women in Blue had hosted England and Australia for one-off test matches in December 2023. Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian side won both of the matches.

According to the latest report by ESPNcricinfo, Bengaluru will host the white-ball leg of the South Africa women’s tour of India. The three ODIs will be played on June 15, 19, and 23. The ODI series will be then followed by a one-off test starting from June 28 in Chennai. While the three-match T20I will start in July. The first game of the series will take place on July 5, followed by the second T20I on July 7 and the final match on July 9.

The report further added that the one-off test wasn’t part of the FTP, but later on, both cricketing boards agreed as they wanted to push and promote women’s test cricket. Regarding the IND-W vs SA-W multi-format series, there has been no official statement released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or Cricket South Africa (CSA).

After the Haramnpreet-led India hosts South Africa series, they will head to the Asia Cup tournament in Sri Lanka, and after that, they will take part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in Bangladesh later this year.
