The Harmanpreet Kaur-led India defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the semi-final. India openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana stitched an unbeaten partnership to chase down the target of 81 runs with ease. Mandhana smashed a stunning half-century, which saw India reach the target in 11 overs.
Shafali Verma is the second-highest run-getter of the ongoing tournament with 184 runs in just four matches.
On the other hand, hosts Sri Lanka are also having a dream run in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024. The Chamari Athapaththu-led side are unbeaten till now.
In their semi-final against Pakistan, they won a last-over thriller by three wickets as they chased down the 141-run target in 19.5 overs. Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu is the leading run scorer in the ongoing tournament with 243 runs in four games at a superb average of 121.50.
