Indian Cricket Team playing XI for ICC T20 World Cup 2024 - Predicted
Rohit Sharma will lead Indian Cricket Team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The Indian squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is finally out, and all the cards are revealed now. India will be heading into the mega event under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and Hardik Pandya will be his deputy. There are not many changes, as the selectors have picked an experienced side.
The top order is likely to be as similar as expected, and a few changes will be in the middle-order. India will play their first game on June 7 against Ireland, but they have a big game on June 9 against Pakistan. So here we will talk about predicted XI for Indian Cricket Team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Indian Cricket Team playing XI for ICC T20 World Cup 2024 – Predicted
1. Rohit Sharma (c)
Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, will be the first name on the sheet of India’s playing XI. He will open for India in the tournament. He has shown some decent form in the IPL 2024, and not to forget, he struck a hundred in the last T20I he played for India earlier this year against Afghanistan. His experience will be very crucial for the team and if he provides the quick starts which he gave in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, India will benefit from it.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal
The Indian management has backed Yashasvi Jaiswal as the second opener for the team instead of Shubman Gill. Hence, he will be opening along with the captain Rohit Sharma. It will also give India the right-hand and left-hand combination at the top, which the team has been looking for in the last few years. Jaiswal is an aggressive player who will complement Rohit Sharma well.
3. Virat Kohli
There might not be a better No. 3 than Virat Kohli in white-ball cricket. He is the leading scorer in the shortest format and has also scored the most runs in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup. On slow pitches in the USA and West Indies, Virat’s role will be very crucial in both batting first and second.
4. Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav will be batting at No. 4. He will be the X-factor for India in the batting unit. His ability to play some unreal innings makes him a crucial batter. He is also the No. 1 ranked batter in T20 internationals, and his presence makes India’s batting stronger. He is good against both spin and pace, and there are not many who can match his skillset.
5. Shivam Dube
India have picked Shivam Dube as another all-rounder in the squad after his brilliant form for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2204. The pitches in the USA and West Indies will be slow, and he can be destructive in such venues. His medium pace will also be useful on such pitches. But more than anything, his ability to destroy spinners in the middle overs will be the key for India.
6. Rishabh Pant (wk)
Rishabh Pant is expected to be India’s first-choice wicket-keeper in the squad and is likely to bat at No. 6. He will be donning the finisher’s hat for India, as he has done in a few games for Delhi Capitals in the final overs. Pant’s presence will give another left-handed option in the middle order for India.
7. Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is India’s vice captain, despite his poor form in the IPL 2024. His role will be very important because he is likely to be India’s third seamer and then will be batting down the order as a finisher. India will hope that he can make an impact just like he had in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
8. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja will be another genuine all-rounder that India will have in their playing XI. He is a three-dimensional player who contribute with bat, ball and with fielding in all three formats. Whether he is batting, bowling, or fielding, he will be an important member of the unit. His all-round ability makes him a core member of the team. Having missed the T20 World Cup in 2022, he will have a point to prove this time around.
9. Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav is likely to be India’s first-choice spinner, and India have backed him in all three formats for the past year or so. He has also responded well with consistent performances. His role on slow pitches during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be very crucial. His ability to take wickets in the middle overs can help India go long in the tournament. It will maiden T20 World Cup for Kuldeep Yadav, so it will be interesting to see how he impresses all.
10. Jasprit Bumrah
After missing the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 due to injury, Jasprit Bumrah will have a point to prove in the tournament this year. Bumrah will be India’s biggest weapon with the ball. His four overs will be a big hurdle for the opposition batters. Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the world, and his role with both new and old balls can make a big difference between a win and a loss.
11. Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh, who led the Indian bowling attack in last T20 World Cup in 2022 in Bumrah’s absence, is likely to be the second-choice seamer for India. He was India’s highest wicket taker in T20 World Cup 2022 (10 wickets) and would like to repeat such kind of performance this time as well. He is someone who can bowl with the new ball as well as in the death overs. He will be a perfect partner to pair up with Bumrah, who also does the same.
