Four Indian openers have scored in single digits in 3 or more games in a row multiple times in T20Is.

Getting a solid start in T20I cricket surely sets a tempo of the game. And, for that, a lot is reliant on top-order batters. They have the responsibility to provide quick-fire starts and smash as many runs as they can in the powerplay.

If the openers and middle-order fail to get going, teams often struggle to score big. In such games, a lot of pressure comes on lower-order batters, and on most occasions team manage to get only par score in such scenarios.

A perfect batting show in T20I cricket is one where the openers set the platform and etch a gigantic partnerships. When both openers get going, teams usually end up with a mountainous total on the board, sending the opposition onto the back foot.

Even while chasing, if the openers smack bowlers all over the park and build a big partnership, the back of the chase is broken, and the target is chased quite comfortably. However, such events have happened only on a few occasions over the years in international cricket.

On the contrary, if the openers fail to perform, the team often suffers a batting collapse under pressure, losing crucial wickets in the powerplay. Moreover, if an opener fails to perform in a few games in a row, he often loses his spot in the playing XI.

If we look at stats, Rohit Sharma is the most successful opening batsman for India with more than 4000 runs in T20Is. He is also the all-time leading run-scorer for the Men in Blue.

Although the right-handed batsman got out for low scores on many occasions in his T20I career, he never got out for single digits in three games in a row. However, there are eight such Indian openers and below are their names.
