5. KL Rahul – 305 runs

Although KL Rahul no longer plays T20Is for India, he still ranks fifth on this list. The right-handed batsman has featured as a wicket-keeper in just eight T20I games, all of which took place in 2020. At an average of 43.57 and a strike rate of 139, he has scored 305 runs with the help of three fifties.

4. Ishan Kishan – 612 runs

Indian wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan made a comeback to the T20I team in 2026 following his fabulous batting show in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024. With his impressive show, he has become the frontline wicket-keeper in the shortest format.

So far, Kishan has scored 619 runs in 25 games at an average of 25.79 and a strike rate of 135.15. He has also played some games as a pure batter. The left-hander has also slammed five half-centuries, including a highest score of 89 runs.

3. Rishabh Pant – 996 runs

Left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant is one of the most successful wicket-keepers for the Indian Team in T20Is. Since 2018, the 28-year-old has featured in 64 games and scored 996 runs in 54 innings.

Pant, who bats in the lower-middle order, owns an average of 23.71 and a strike rate of 129.01. He has smacked two half-centuries as a wicket-keeper, including a highest score of an unbeaten 65.

2. Sanju Samson – 1093 runs

Sanju Samson is one of the key wicket-keepers for India and played a crucial role in the team’s title-winning campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026.

With 1093 runs in 46 games (39 innings), Samson clinches the second spot on this list. At a stunning strike rate of 162.40, the right-handed batter has smacked three centuries and five fifties.

1. MS Dhoni – 1617 runs

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is at the top of the list of Indian wicket-keepers with the most runs in T20I cricket. The legendary wicket-keeper played 98 T20Is from 2006 to 2019, scoring 1617 runs in 85 innings at an average of 37.60 and a strike rate of 126.

The 45-year-old played as a finisher throughout his career and smacked only two half-centuries. Out of 85 innings, Dhoni remained unbeaten in 42 matches, which signifies his ability to handle pressure and expertise as a finisher.
