Delhi Capitals hanged Rishabh Pant's jersey in their dug-out who will miss the IPL 2023 after suffering a fatal accident in December last year.

It’s the second day of Indian Premier League 2023. Delhi Capitals are taking on Lucknow Super Giants in their opening encounter at BRABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The capitals are on the field without their regular captain Rishabh Pant. Missing him from the action, Delhi Capitals management decided to hang his jersey in their dugout to wish him a speedy recovery. India’s next-gen superstar, Pant suffered a massive car accident on 30th December when he was going to his home in Roorkee from New Delhi to give his mother a surprise. Since then, Pant has been sitting out and will be out for almost a year.

Delhi Capitals' tribute for Rishabh Pant

Due to a massive accident, Pant suffered grave injuries on his body and is currently recovering at home. Delhi Capitals are playing Lucknow Super Giants in their opening encounter. DC have given the leadership duties to David Warner in Pant’s absence. Rishabh has become an integral part of Delhi Capitals dugout. DC’s gesture has made Pant and DC fans emotional.

Delhi Capitals tweeted a photo of Pant’s jersey hanging from the top of the dugout saying, “Always in our dugout. Always in our team”.

Rishabh Pant made an emotional tweet to show support to his team Delhi.

25 year old Pant in a DC team announcement tweet replied, “I am 13th player coz (because) of impact rule otherwise I would have been 12th man”.

This clearly shows how much Pant is missing this game from the sidelines. Rishabh has made everyone emotional with his posts after the accident a number of times. Once he posted that he has started finding happiness in being able to brush his teeth as well. Pant’s recovery from this accident is going to be a longer one. Delhi are definitely going to miss swashbuckling left handed batsman and Captain very much in this season.
