IPL 2023 Updated Orange cap & Purple cap after Match 72, Eliminator, LSG vs MI
Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs to advance to the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2023.
Mumbai Indians have comfortably defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs at Chepauk in Eliminator game of IPL 2023. There was absolute chaos in the Lucknow Super Giants chase. Lucknow panicked badly against Mumbai’s enthusiasm on the field and also against young Aakash Madhwal. Aakash Madhwal bowled a superb spell of (5/5) in 3.3 overs to power Mumbai a place in Qualifier 2 game against Gujarat Titans. Lucknow lost three wickets in a comedy of errors run out while chasing 183 runs. This was a big difference between the teams. Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, and Krishnappa Gautham lost their wicket in a mix-up during running between the wicket. Batting first, Mumbai put up 182 on the board with contributions from Cameron Green (41), Surya Kumar Yadav (33) in the middle overs, and then superb finishes from Tilak Verma (26) and Nehal Wadhera (23). Lucknow Super Giants failed to challenge Mumbai’s fielding more than their bowling. When everything was going right, Lucknow somehow managed to find a way to lose their wickets. Akash Madhwal has emerged as the star with his magnificent spell.
