Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals in a last-over thriller by 6 wickets to register their first win of the IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma has something to smile for in the IPL 2023. MI have beaten Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets to register their first win of the IPL 2023. This is Mumbai Indians overall fifth win after the Mega Auction in 2022. Mumbai Indians had a clinical performance against Delhi Capitals to gain their first 2 points in the IPL 2023. Rohit Sharma with his powerful inning of 65 runs in 45 balls powered Mumbai to a much needed victory. Delhi Capitals did make a comeback in the final overs of the Mumbai innings but, they could not create much magic with the ball. MI’s Top 3 had done the job of taking command of the game. Ishan Kishan scored 31 while Tilak Verma scored 41 runs. 

IPL 2023 Updated Points Table

After two back to back losses, finally Mumbai Indians have found something to cheer for. They have finally opened their account on Points Table by earning 2 points against Delhi Capitals. With a win in 3 games, they have now come up to 8th place in the points table. While Delhi Capitals are yet to register their first win of this season. Lucknow Super Giants with 6 points out of 4 games are at the top. Rajasthan Royals with 4 points and better NRR are in second place in the Points Table. Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans are at third and fourth respectively in the IPL 2023 points table.

IPL 2023 Updated Orange cap holder:

One of the top contenders for the orange cap, David Warner scored a half century and anchored the innings toward a challenging score. Warner’s 51 were crucial in Delhi Capitals 172 runs total. Warner has now moved up to the second position in the top 5 list with 209 runs in 4 innings. Shikhar Dhawan maintains his top spot with 225 runs in 3 innings. Chennai’s opener Ruturaj Gaikwad is third on the list with 189 runs. Two RCBians with their superb batting against Lucknow have made their entry in the Top 5. Captain Faf is number 4 with 175 runs, while Virat is in 5th position with 164 runs in 3 innings.

Purple Cap race remained unchanged from Monday night. Nobody from Delhi Capitals or Mumbai Indians broke through the Top 5 to make any change in the Purple Cap Top 5 list. Lucknow Super Giants Mark Wood is currently leading the race with 9 wickets in 3 games. Gujarat Titans vice-captain Rashid Khan is in second place with 8 wickets. Rajasthan Royals Leg Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also has 8 wickets and is third on this list. Ravi Bishnoi and Titans pacer Alarri Joseph share the same amount of wickets, 6. Bishnoi with is 4th and Alzarri Joseph is 5th on the list.

What's in IPL on Wednesday?

On Wednesday, Chepauk will be ready to host Chennai Super Kings' second home game of the IPL 2023. CSK will be taking on tournaments' hot favorite Rajasthan Royals. The Royals have registered two dominating wins this season while they lost their only game by a close margin. CSK are also looking for a positive mindset this season. This will be a great clash of the two top teams in the IPL 2023.
