MI defeated KKR by 5 wickets, while RR came victorious against hosts GT on super Sunday's double-header in the IPL 2023.

The IPL 2023 has not stopped amazing people with thrillers. In a battle for the top, Rajasthan Royals won a close game by only 3 wickets against Gujarat. Rajasthan Royals came out from the back to defeat dominating Gujarat Titans. Left-hander Shimron Hetmyer brought up the caribbean flare in the chase and finished it in style with a six. Gujarat Titans set up a target of 178 for the Royals. RR started poorly by losing both their openers under 3 overs. After this, Captain Sanju Samson (60) held up an end to stabilize the Royals innings. Sanju with Shimron Hetmyer added 59 runs in 5 overs to give them an outside chance. Hetmyer after this partnership picked up his pace and helped RR chase down 178 runs. Shimron Hetmyer scored 56 runs in 26 balls, he smashed 2 fours and 5 sixes in his inning.

Mumbai Indians are finally looking to be back on track. They won against Kolkata Knight Riders convincingly. Mumbai chased down Kolkata's 186 run target in the 18th over. Ishan Kishan’s fiery inning of 58 runs in 25 balls laid the foundation in favor of Mumbai. Kishan smashed 10 boundaries in his 25-ball inning. Tilak Verma (30) and Suryakumar Yadav (43) also played beautifully to help Mumbai earn two points from the game. Kishan’s onslaught as the opener and then the Middle order’s stable performance have given Mumbai a lot of confidence for the upcoming games. Veteran Piyush Chawla also continued to impress with his bowling. Chawla’s economical spell proved a game changer. In his 4 overs, he conceded only 19 runs with a wicket at Wankhede in the afternoon conditions.

After the afternoon game, Mumbai Indians placed themselves in 8th position with a convincing win over Kolkata Knight Riders. MI won back to back encounters. Kolkata Knight Riders after the loss are positioned in fifth place. Later in the evening, it was a tight finish once again. Rajasthan Royals with the win have earned number One place in the points table with 8 points. Gujarat Titans are number three in the Points table after the loss.
