Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets to register their first win of the IPL 2023.
The IPL 2023 has been at its amazing peak in the last three days. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have continued the trend of last ball finish in the IPL 2023 since Sunday. In another dramatic clash, Mumbai Indians have prevailed and going forward by earning 2 points against Delhi Capitals. Even after Mumbai's top order gave their team a wonderful start in a 173 run chase, they panicked a little under spirited Delhi Capitals bowling in the final 3-4 overs. Rohit Sharma (65), Ishan Kishan (31), and Tilak Verma (41) had a wonderful start but two wickets in two balls in the 16th over put MI in a back seat for a bit of time.
Delhi Capitals batting failed once again
For Delhi Capitals Captain David Warner played a great anchor role to help Delhi reach a challenging total. Axar Patel’s (54) contribution put them on 172. Apart from these two Delhi’s batting had been poor in the game. Warner talking about Delhi Capitals batting said, “I think from the last three games we have some positives, but we should not lose wickets in clumps'. He has also hinted about changing Axar's batting order to Top 4 from Number 6 or 7. Warner also talked about the last ball finish, He said, “Last three games in the IPL have been amazing, the wrong end of it today but the guys were fantastic”. Delhi bowled brilliantly in the final 4 overs.
