Ambati Rayudu won three IPL titles with CSK.
Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Ambati Rayudu tacitly roasted the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) a day after Faf du Plessis’ side suffered a heartbreaking defeat by four wickets against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Eliminator in Ahmedabad on May 22.
Rayudu posted a celebration video of the CSK players and staff in their team bus after they had secured their fifth IPL title last year by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad.
The post from Rayudu could probably have been in response to the RCB team and fans’ huge celebrations after they knocked out defending champions CSK from IPL 2024. In their last league match, RCB defeated the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK by 27 runs and knocked them out of the playoffs race.
Sharing a clip on Instagram, Rayudu wrote, “Just a kind reminder from the five-time champions.’ He captioned his post, “Just a gentle reminder…”
Reacting to the post, CSK pacer Deepak Chahar commented the salute emoji, while overseas speedster Matheesha Pathirana commented a couple of laughing emojis and a yellow heart.

RCB can’t win the IPL by aggressive celebrations: Ambati Rayudu
With the loss against RR, RCB once again failed to clinch their maiden title. RCB had the momentum of a six-match winning streak, but they couldn’t cross the Eliminator hurdle as they were outclassed by the Royals.
Bengaluru had an ordinary night with the bat as they managed to reach a below-par total of 172/8 in 20 overs. While chasing, Rajasthan lost a few wickets in the middle overs, but Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer played crucial knocks with the bat to win the intense contest by four wickets and advance to Qualifier 2.
Following RCB’s defeat, cricketer-turned-commentator Rayudu slammed them by saying that they can’t win the IPL through aggressive celebrations, as they did after defeating CSK. The former Indian cricketer further added that they can’t achieve success by only beating Chennai in the cash-rich league.
“RCB will have to understand that you can’t win the IPL trophy by aggressive celebrations. You can’t achieve success by beating Chennai Super Kings. You need a proper team and good performance in the playoffs to clinch the trophy,” Rayudu said on Star Sports.
“Bengaluru will have to trust the Indian players and local coaches. You can’t ignore the Indian talent in the Indian Premier League. CSK, MI and KKR have understood the importance of Indian players and that’s why they are among the top performing units,” he added.
