Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought a total of 6 players in the IPL 2024 auction.

Prior to the IPL 2024 auction, the Lucknow Super Giants were in the process of strengthening their squad for the upcoming season by recruiting 6 players, with a specific emphasis on including 2 overseas players. In their efforts to maintain continuity, the team opted to retain 18 players from the previous season, including 6 international players. Ahead of the auction, Lucknow Super Giants engaged in a direct swap trade with the Rajasthan Royals, acquiring Devdutt Padikkal in exchange for trading Avesh Khan to the Rajasthan Royals.

Lucknow Super Giants effectively and strategically used their 13.15 crore budget during the auction. They bought Shivam Mavi, Arshin Kulkarni, M. Siddharth, Ashton Turner, David Willey, Mohd. Arshad Khan.

Lucknow Super Giants finished 4th in IPL 2023

In the league stage of the tournament, Lucknow Super Giants secured the 3rd position in the points table, accumulating a total of 17 points in their campaign. Out of the 14 league games, they won 8 matches and faced defeat in 5, with one match being canceled due to rain. Unfortunately, their journey in the playoffs was cut short as they lost the Eliminator match. Overall, Lucknow Super Giants played 15 matches in the tournament, clinching victory in 8, facing defeat in 6, and having 1 match washed out due to rain.

Marcus Stoinis emerged as a standout performer for Lucknow Super Giants in the 2023 season. Notably, he was the sole batsman to surpass the 400-run mark and played a crucial role in stabilizing the middle-order. Across 15 innings, Stoinis accumulated an impressive total of 408 runs, showcasing a striking strike rate of 150, and recorded three half-centuries.

On the bowling front, Ravi Bishnoi, the emerging spin bowler for Lucknow, stood out as their top wicket-taker. Displaying exceptional skills, he claimed a total of 16 wickets in 15 matches, maintaining an impressive economy rate of 7.74 throughout the tournament, highlighting his ability to control the flow of runs.
