IPL 2024 auction: Full list of players bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought a total of 6 players in the IPL 2024 auction.
Before the IPL 2024 auction, the Sunrisers Hyderabad actively sought to enhance their squad for the upcoming season by recruiting 6 players, with a specific emphasis on incorporating 3 overseas members. Opting for some continuity, the team decided to retain 18 players from the previous season, including 5 international players
In a noteworthy pre-auction move, the Sunrisers Hyderabad engaged in a direct swap trade with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They acquired Shahbaz Ahmed while trading Mayank Dagar to the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
With a purse of 34 crores, the Sunrisers Hyderabad spent more than half of their purse on buying Australian captain Pat Cummins. They also bought the likes of Travis Head, Jaydev Unadkat, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jhathvedh Subramanyan, and Akash Singh.
Sunrisers Hyderabad finished 10th in IPL 2023
Sunrisers Hyderabad had a tough time in the IPL 2023, finishing last in the points table with only 8 points and 4 wins in 14 games. They struggled to be consistent and ended up with a negative Net Run Rate (-0.590), showing they couldn’t get their season on the right track.
South African wicket-keeper Heinrich Klaasen was a standout player for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He often saved the team with his performances, scoring 448 runs in 12 games at an average of 49.77 and an excellent strike rate of 177.07. Klaasen even hit a century and two fifties during the season.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, known for taking wickets early in the game, didn’t have the same impact with the new ball this season. Although he did reasonably well, picking up 16 wickets in 14 games with an economy rate of 8.33, he struggled to make those crucial breakthroughs in the beginning.
