The IPL 2024 auction will happen in Dubai on December 19, 2023.

The IPL 2024 auction shortlist of players has been unveiled by the BCCI on December 11, 2023. The IPL 17 auction will be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19 and starts at 2:30 PM IST.

A total of 333 players have been shortlisted by the 10 franchises. Out of the 333 players in total, 214 are Indian players and 119 are overseas, including two players from associate countries. There are 77 slots at maximum to be filled with 30 slots reserved for overseas players.

The total amount of accessible funds is INR 262.95 crores. The Kolkata Knight Riders have the most open spots (12), while the Gujarat Titans have the greatest purse (INR 38.15 crore) coming into the auction. England pacer Jofra Archer has withdrawn his name from the IPL 2024 auction on the advice of the ECB.

A total of 23 players have registered their names at the highest base price (INR 2 crores), while tare a total of 13 players listed in the second highest base price category – of INR 1.5 Crores and all of them are overseas players. Not a single Indian player has registered himself in this base price category.

Some of the interesting names are of Wanindu Hasaranga and Philip Salt, while at 39 years of age, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi is the oldest player in the IPL 2024 auction. Australians Jhye Richardson and Daniel Sams, along with Englishmen Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, and Tymal Mills have also registered themselves in this category.

Wanindu Hasaranga, Phillip Salt, Colin Munro, Sherfane Rutherford, Tom Curran, Jason Holder, Mohammad Nabi, James Neesham, Daniel Sams, Chris Jordan, Tymal Mills, Jhye Richardson and Tim Southee.
