IPL 2024: Massive boost for CSK as Mustafizur Rahman to join squad ahead of KKR clash - Reports
Mustafizur Rahman has picked up seven wickets in the IPL 2024 so far.
In a latest development, defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have received a big boost as their star pacer Mustafizur Rahman is all set to join the squad ahead of their high-voltage clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on April 8, according to reports.
Earlier, the left-arm pacer Mustafizur missed the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he returned back to his country Bangladesh, to clear the US visa process for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The showpiece event will be played in the USA and West Indies from June 2. It is to be noted that the marquee event will take place almost a week after the IPL 2024 final.
However, five-time champions CSK missed the services of Rahman as they lost the match by six wickets against Hyderabad. The Bangladesh pacer was also the leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2024 with seven wickets in three matches before leaving for his home.
Mustafizur Rahman will leave Dhaka on April 7
According to The Daily Star, CSK pacer Mustafizur Rahman will leave Dhaka on April 7 and will re-group with the Super Kings squad for the remaining matches in the IPL 2024 edition. The report also added that Rahman has completed the US Visa procedures for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
“Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman will leave Dhaka today to rejoin the Chennai Super Kings (#CSK) in the Indian Premier League (#IPL) after successfully completing the visa procedures for the USA ahead of the forthcoming ICC Twenty20 World Cup in June,” according to The Daily Star.
