IPL 2024: Kuldeep Yadav suffers groin injury; Asked to take rest as DC deal with massive blow - Reports

Delhi Capitals’ Kuldeep Yadav has taken three wickets in the ongoing IPL 2024 so far.
Ahead of their crucial encounter in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) suffered a big setback as their star leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav suffered a groin injury. He might miss the upcoming clash against MI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 7, according to reports.
The veteran leg-spinner played DC’s opening two matches in the IPL 2024 edition. Kuldeep played two away games against the Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals and has taken three wickets till now.
However, he missed the Capitals’ next two games against defending champions Chennai Super Kings and the in-form Kolkata Knight Riders in Visakhapatnam. While the Delhi-based franchise won against Chennai in Vizag, they missed the experience of Kuldeep in their 106-run defeat against two-time champions KKR at the very same venue.
Kuldeep Yadav might miss Mumbai Indians clash in the IPL 2024 season
According to a latest report in ESPNcricinfo, the 29-year-old has been advised to take rest, but there is no confirmation yet on when he will be ready to play again for DC in the ongoing IPL 2024.
However, the report also added that the injury is not that serious and Kuldeep will travel with the DC squad for their next match against MI on April 7.
It further stated that the Indian selectors will monitor Kuldeep’s injury closely as he is the main member for the Indian squad in the department for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will start from June 2 in the West indies and the USA.
