IPL 2024: Massive blow for KKR as pace sensation Harshit Rana spotted with arm sling ahead of CSK clash

Harshit Rana went off the field in the DC vs KKR clash in Vizag without bowling a ball.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might find themselves a bowler short in the upcoming matches of the IPL 2024 after Harshit Rana seemingly injured his shoulder during the recent game against Delhi Capitals (DC). This happened on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

KKR had posted a humongous 272/7 in 20 overs with Sunil Narine hammering 85 runs and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scoring 54 in his first outing with the bat in IPL. Andre Russell (41) and Rinku Singh (23) played nifty cameos.  

In reply, despite fifties by Tristan Stubbs and captain Rishabh Pant, DC could only muster 166 runs and lost by 106 runs. Vaibhav Arora picked 3/27, while Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets and Sunil Narine picked a wicket as well.

Harshit Rana’s shoulder injury spoils KKR’s brilliant victory   

While the win propelled KKR to the top of the IPL 2024 points table, Harshit Rana’s absence from the field cast a shadow of worry. He was supposed to bowl the sixth over but departed the field unexpectedly clutching his right shoulder. Later, he was seen wearing an ice pack on his shoulder, sparking concerns about a possible injury.

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer expressed uncertainty over Rana’s injury situation, expressing optimism that it was not serious. He noticed Rana clutching his shoulder but was unsure about the severity of the damage.

And now a photo has emerged of Harshit Rana wearing a sling on his right hand at the airport and it seems that he is suffering from a serious injury. This could also mean that Rana might miss a few matches or in a worst-case scenario, the rest of the IPL 2024 as well.

KKR are at the top of the IPL 2024 points table with 3 wins from 3 games and will face Chennai Super Kings in their next match in Chennai on April 8.
