IPL 2024: "Dear Thala.." Suresh Raina reacts to MS Dhoni hammering Pandya for 3 sixes on trot

MS Dhoni smashed three consecutive sixes off first three balls he faced against MI.

The El Classico of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is currently underway at the Wankhede Stadium. Two teams with ten titles combined are facing each other in match No. 29 of the IPL 2024. It has been a brilliant game so far, and fans were treated to some incredible displays from their favourite superstars. However, the most exciting moment came in the 20th over of the first innings.

MS Dhoni came out to bat with only four balls left. CSK, who were looking to finish around 180–185 runs, got the boost provided by MSD in the end. He smashed three consecutive sixes on his first three balls of his innings and took a two on the last ball to finish with an incredible cameo of 20* off 4 balls.

Dhoni powered CSK to 206 runs in the first innings. Fans were thrilled to see Dhoni hitting sixes at Wankhede again. Just after his cameo, Twitter and other social media platforms were filled with reactions from many former cricketers, cricket analysts, and fans. Former CSK star and “Mr. IPL” Suresh Raina also took to Twitter (now X) and praised the 42-year-old superstar.

Earlier in the innings, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played a good knock. He scored his second consecutive fifty in the ongoing IPL 2024. Gaikwad scored 69 off 40 balls with five fours and five sixes in his knock. Shivam Dube also carried on his form and scored an unbeaten 66 off 38 balls with ten fours and two sixes.

Notably, CSK are currently third on the points table, and they need this win to stay in the top three. But they have not won an away game so far in this tournament. On the other hand, MI, who started with three consecutive defeats, seems to have found the momentum back. They have won their last two games and will look to make a hat-trick of wins here.
