SRH registered their fourth win in the ongoing IPL 2024.

In match No. 30 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, explosive Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener smashed the fourth fastest century in the IPL history to guide his team to a historic total of 287/3 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

With help of a hundred from Travis Head (102) quick-fire fifty from Heinrich Klaasen (67) and cameos from Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram and Abdul Samad, SRH bettered their own record and hammered the highest ever IPL total against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 15.

While chasing 288, Bengaluru openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis provided the hosts a blistering start as they smashed 79 runs in the first six overs. However, SRH’s leg-spinner Mayank Markande provided visitors with their first breakthrough as he cleaned bowled Kohli (42) in the seventh over.

Will Jacks (8) and Rajat Patidar (9) departed cheaply during the chase. Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins removed dangerous du Plessis (62) and also took the wicket of Saurav Chahuan (0) in 10th over of the second innings.

However, Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik stitched a quick-fire stand of 59 in 25 balls before Cummins removed Lomror for 19 runs in the 15th over. Towards the end, Karthik played a fighting knock of 83 runs but the target was too much for the hosts as they lost the game by 25 runs.
