RR lost their second league stage game in the ongoing IPL 2024.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted a huge total of 201/3 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the match No. 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on May 2.

Hyderbad opener Travis Head (58) and middle-order batter Nitish Reddy (76*) helped the hosts finish over 200 runs. In-form wicket-keeper batter Heinrich Klassen played a blistering knock off 42* in just 19 balls as he gave finishing touches to the SRH innings. For RR, Avesh Khan picked two wickets, while Sandeep Sharma scalped one.

While chasing 202, the visitors lost in-form opener Jos Buttler (0) and skipper Sanju Samson (0) in the first over itself. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag played counter-attacking cricket and stitched a crucial 134-run stand. Jaiswal departed after scoring 67 runs. Soon after Jaiswal’s wicket, SRH captain Pat Cummins removed Riyan Parag for 77 runs in the 16th over.

Towards the end, the hosts pulled things back by picking up two quick wickets by removing Shimron Hetmyer (13) and Dhruv Jurel (1). Cummins bowled a brilliant 19th over as Royals need 13 runs in the final over while chasing.

However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed his skills as he defended 13 runs in the final over as hosts won by just one run. With the ball, Bhuvneshwar picked up a three-wicket haul. Captain Cummins and Natarajan scalped two-wickets each.
