PBKS are knocked out of the IPL 2024 after suffering a defeat against RCB in Dharamsala.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) displayed a stunning batting performance as they hammered 241/7 in 20 overs against Punjab Kings in match No. 58 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

After being asked to bat first, Bengaluru had a dream night with the bat. Opener Virat Kohli missed his ninth IPL hundred by only eight runs in the game as he smashed a 47-ball 92 in the game. With contributions from Rajat Patidar (55), Cameron Green (46) and Dinesh Karthik (18), RCB went past 240 in the first innings.

While chasing 242, the hosts had a shaky start as they lost their openers Prabhsimran Singh (6) and Jonny Bairstow (27) in the first six overs. However, Rilee Rossouw hammered as a quick-fire 27-ball 61 as the hosts reached 107/3 after the end of first 10 overs in response to Bengaluru’s first innings total.

Soon after Rossouw’s departure, the hosts lost three wickets in the middle phase as they went from 107/3 to 164/7 in 15 overs. Towards the end, Bengaluru bowlers cleared up PBKS tail as the hosts were all out for 181. RCB won the do or die encounter by 60 runs.

With this win, Bengaluru keep their campaign alive for reaching the IPL 2024 playoffs. While Punjab became the second team after the Mumbai Indians to be eliminated from the ongoing tournament.
