IPL 2024: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 11 LSG vs PBKS

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Punjab Kings by 21 runs to register their first win of IPL 2024.
In match 11 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock, stand-in captain Nicholas Pooran, and all-rounder Krunal Pandya played some crucial knocks as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) posted 199/8 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Ekana Stadium on March 30.
Super Giants opener de Kock hammered a 38-ball 54, including five boundaries and two sixes. While the stand-in skipper Pooran played a blinder of 42 runs in 21 balls along with three fours and an equal number of maximums, LSG’s all-rounder Krunal then chipped in at the end, scoring an unbeaten 43 runs in 22 deliveries.
Earlier, Super Giants regular captain KL Rahul, who opened the innings with de Kock, played the game as an impact player and could only manage to score just 15 runs in nine deliveries before being dismissed by PBKS left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh.
Punjab’s all-rounder Sam Curran emerged as the most successful bowler for the visitors, grabbing three wickets for 28 runs, while Arshdeep took two wickets for 30 runs and Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar shared one-wicket each against LSG in the first innings.
While chasing 200 runs, PBKS openers Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow went off to a flying start and added 61/0 runs in the first six overs, with Dhawan playing as the aggressor in the powerplay. After the end of 10 overs, the duo smashed 98 runs without losing a wicket.
Super Giants uncapped pacer Mayank Yadav gave the hosts their first breakthrough in the 12th over as Bairstow departed after scoring 42 runs. The debutant pacer also bowled the fastest delivery of the IPL 2024 so far clicking 155.8kmph.
Mayank broke the back of the Punjab’s batting order after claiming two more wickets in his match-winning spell. He dismissed two more PBKS batters Prabhsimran Singh (19) and vice-captain Jitesh Sharma for six runs. The 21-year-old debutant registered 3/27 in his fiery spell of four overs.
Mohsin Khan, too, joined the party as he picked up back-to-back wickets in the 17th over. The Super Giants left-arm speedster dismissed Dhawan, who smashed a fighting 70 runs and PBKS all-rounder Curran, who was dismissed for a golden duck. At the end, Lucknow won their first game in the season by 21 runs against Punjab.
IPL 2024: Updated points table

After winning their first game in the IPL 2024 against PBKS by 21 runs, LSG made a big jump as they now sit at the fifth position with two points and NRR of 0.025. Meanwhile, Dhawan’s Punjab slipped to sixth place with one win and two losses. Their NRR is now -0.337.
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings still hold the top position with four points and an NRR of +1.979. Kolkata Knight Riders hold the second spot with four points and positive NRR of 1.047. Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad take the third and fourth positions, respectively with one win each.
While RCB, GT, DC, and MI are the bottom four teams, sitting at seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth positions, respectively.
IPL 2024: Most Runs (Orange Cap)
PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan, who scored a fighting 70 runs jumped to third spot on the Orange Cap leaderboard. LSG stand-skipper Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 42 runs made a big stride in the most runs list. The hard-hitter Pooran is now at fifth place with 106 runs to his name.
Meanwhile, RCB’s Virat Kohli remains at the top with 181 runs. SRH’s explosive batter, Henrich Klaasen, sits at second place with 143 runs. Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag is slotted at fourth position with 127 runs.

IPL 2024: Most Wickets (Purple Cap)
After the end of match No. 11 between LSG and PBKS, there are two new entries in the Purple Cap leaderboard. After grabbing three wickets, Punjab left-arm pacer Sam Curran has moved to the third spot. PBKS ace speedster Kagiso Rabada, who picked just one wicket, is at fourth place.
Meanwhile, CSK’s Mustafizur Rahman is at top of the list with six wickets followed by KKR’s Harshit Rana, who has five scalps to his name. KKR’s Andre Russell is at fifth spot with four wickets.
