IPL 2024: RCB director of cricket Mo Bobat rubbishes Glenn Maxwell injury concerns

Glenn Maxwell has scored 32 runs till now in IPL 2024.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) director of cricket Mo Bobat has cleared the air regarding their star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell’s injury ahead of their must-win match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on April 15.

In their last Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Mumbai Indians, Maxwell suffered an injury to his thumb while fielding. In the match, his side suffered a crushing defeat by seven wickets at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on April 15. However, few reports emerged that Maxwell might miss Bengaluru’s next home game against SRH.

Mo Bobat clears air regarding Glenn Maxwell’s injury

During the pre-match press conference on April 14, RCB’s director of cricket Mo Bobat stated that Maxwell went for a couple of scans, and he added that there are no injury concerns regarding him. In good news for Bengaluru fans, Bobat added that the star batter will practice in the nets as he is feeling good now.

“Maxi has had a couple of scans, and he’s okay at the minute. So, there’s no injury concerns. He’s going to practice today and get more of a feel,” said RCB director of cricket Mo Bobat.

The 35-year-old Maxwell is having a terrible IPL 2024 season so far. He has just managed to score just 32 runs in six matches at an average of 5.33. However, Bobat backed Maxwell and said that they are trying to support him as much as they can.

“He’s disappointed. He obviously has high standards and has a very, very impressive 12 to 24 months. He’s in our plans, and is an important part of our batting lineup. So, up until now, we’re trying to support him as best as we can and help him find his best form,” he said.
