IPL 2024 updated points table, Orange Cap & Purple cap after match 26 LSG vs DC
Delhi Capitals registered their second win in the ongoing IPL 2024.
Despite recovering from 94/7 to 167/7, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) couldn’t capitalize on the momentum they gained and lost to Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 26th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, youngster Ayush Badoni added a 73-run stand along with Arshad Khan for eighth wicket to help the hosts reach a respectable total of 167/7 in 20 overs.
After missing three games due to groin niggle, DC leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc on his return as he scalped three wickets while conceding only 20 runs in his quota of four overs. Meanwhile, Khaleel Ahmed chipped in with two wickets while Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar picked one wicket apiece in the visitors’ cause.
While chasing 168, DC openers David Warner (8) and Prithvi Shaw stitched an opening partnership of 24 runs before pacer Yash Thakur sent back Warner in the fourth over. Shaw along with Fraser-McGurk helped the side reach 62/1 in six overs. However, Bishnoi removed Shaw in the seventh over. The right-handed batter Shaw scored 32 runs.
McGrurk along with skipper Rishabh Pant, added a crucial fourth-wicket partnership of 77 runs as it balanced the match. However, McGurk slammed a quick-fire 35-ball 55 before Naveen-ul-Haq removed him in the 15th over. In the very next over, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi removed Pant. The DC skipper hammered 21-ball 41 runs. Towards the end Tristan Stubbs (15*) and Shai Hope (11*) helped visitors win the match by six wickets.
