Liam Livingstone played only seven games in the IPL 2024 and managed to score 111 runs while taking three wickets.

Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) all-rounder Liam Livingstone has left the franchise camp in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and went back to England.

Livingstone has returned home after PBKS were ousted from the tournament with four victories and eight losses in their first 12 games. Livingstone struggled to make an effect for PBKS during what he called a “disappointing” campaign.

PBKS will next play Rajasthan Royals in their 13th match of the IPL 2024 on May 15 in Guwahati and their final league match will come on Sunday, May 19, against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad.

He scored 111 runs at 22.20 in seven innings, struck at 142.30, and claimed three wickets in 12 overs. It extends his winter in franchise cricket, following a quiet SA20 season with MI Cape Town and a two-match stay with Sharjah Warriors.

“IPL done for another year”- Liam Livingstone shares message for Punjab Kings fans

ESPNCricinfo reported that Liam Livingstone, the Punjab Kings and England all-rounder, has left India ahead of schedule to have his knee “sorted” before the T20 World Cup in June.

Livingstone has endured a succession of muscle ailments over the last two years, and he was absent for two games early in the IPL season after collapsing on the field during a loss to the Lucknow Super Giants last month.

He was later dropped by PBKS as they sought to discover the optimum blend of overseas players, but he returned to the team in their loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday.

ESPNcricinfo reported that his knee injury is not bad enough to jeopardize his participation in the T20 World Cup, but he will need time to recover before England faces Pakistan in four T20Is later this month.

“IPL done for another year, had to get my knee sorted for the upcoming World Cup. Thanks once again to the Punjab Kings fans for all their love and support. Disappointing season as a team and personally, but as always I loved every minute of playing in the IPL,” Livingstone wrote on social media.
