IPL 2025: Rohit Sharma becomes second batter after Chris Gayle to hit 300 sixes in IPL

Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma achieved a massive feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The opening batter became only the second batter after Chris Gayle to complete 300 sixes in the history of the league.
Rohit Sharma achieved the feat in the ongoing Eliminator of the IPL 2025 against the Gujarat Titans (GT). The knockout clash between the two teams is taking place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Friday (30th May).
In what is the big clash for MI, Rohit Sharma oozed his class with the bat. The premier batter, although got two lucky chances at the start of the innings, has made sure that he cashes in on that and puts his team in the top position.
After two dropped chances, Rohit Sharma hardly put a foot wrong and took the responsibility brilliantly. The former MI skipper stepped up big time for his team and slammed a brutal half-century, putting GT under massive pressure in a knockout clash.
What was impressive about Rohit Sharma’s innings was that he didn’t let any GT bowler settle. The right-hander attacked every bowler and stamped his authority on the game.
On a big night, Rohit Sharma slammed a magnificent half-century and yet again proved why is he rated as the big match player. Not only this, but he also achieved two massive milestones in the league en route to his half-century.
Rohit Sharma completed 7000 runs in the IPL, becoming only the second batter in the league to achieve the feat. Not only this, he also notched up 300 IPL sixes, becoming the first Indian and just the second batter after Chris Gayle to do so.
